Other Assistance

Since 2004, we have distributed over $50,000 in emergency medical financial assistance. This unique community resource is funded by donations from:

  • Martha’s Vineyard Rotary Club
  • Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation
  • Local businesses, congregations and private donors

 

Department of Transitional Assistance

The DTA assists people who need help with food, jobs, cash assistance, emergency shelter and domestic violence. Martha’s Vineyard does not have a local DTA office. The Access Programs functions as a liaison to the closest DTA office, in Hyannis, Massachusetts, which can be reached at 508-862-6600.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program

Access to SNAP Program (formerly known as Food Stamps,) can be generated through the health insurance application process at the Vineyard Health Care Access Program or by calling DTA at 508-862-6600.

Community Action Committee of Cape Cod and the Islands

CACCI offers counseling services for housing and other self sufficiency needs. CACCI can be reached at (508) 771-1727.
