Health Insurance

Did you know that one in eight residents of the Island gets its medical coverage through the Access Program every year?

The mission of the Access Program is to help you get and keep your health insurance. If you qualify, we can provide you with the assistance necessary in enrolling in an affordable health insurance program and renewal services for all public health programs that require periodic updates on household information and income verification. We are a certified Massachusetts Navigator program, here to help you navigate the sometimes complicated and confusing insurance systems.

Children’s Medical Security Plan:
(CMSP) is a basic health insurance program offered by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services for Massachusetts children and teens under the age of 19 years.

Connector Care:
A health insurance program for low and moderate-income Massachusetts residents who don’t have health insurance.

Qualified Health Plans with tax credits:
“good value” health insurance to people who are not eligible for MassHealth or Connector Care. For individuals or households with income over 300% and under 400% FPL.

Qualified Health Plans without tax credits:
“good value” health insurance to people who are not eligible for MassHealth or Connector Care. For indiviudals or households with income over 400% FPL.

Health Safety Net:
The goal of the Safety Net is to make sure that all Massachusetts residents can get health care when they need it, regardless of income

MassHealth :
A public health insurance program for eligible low and medium-income residents of Massachusetts.

Medicare – A national health insurance program for people who are 65 or older, certain people under 65 with disabilities, and people with permanent kidney failure.

Prescription Advantage – a state-sponsored prescription drug insurance plan for Massachusetts seniors and disabled residents.

Social Security Disability – (SSDI) is a federal insurance program that protects workers who become totally disabled and cannot work for a year or more.
